Permit Path PERMIT PATH

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 8, 2026

Permit Path LLC (“Permit Path,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Permit Path mobile application (the “App”), which helps commercial drivers follow the routes authorized by their oversize/overweight permits. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the App and to this website.

We built Permit Path for working drivers, and we treat your information the way we would want ours treated: we collect only what the App needs to do its job, we do not sell your information, and we do not show ads.

Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are handled by our sign-in service in protected form; we never see or store your password in readable form.

Permit documents you upload. The App’s core feature is reading the permit PDF you choose to upload. Permits issued by state agencies typically contain information such as the carrier’s name, business address, phone number, USDOT number, vehicle identifiers, load description, and the authorized route. We process this information to extract and display your authorized route, and we retain processed permits and their routes so you can reopen them.

Location information. With your permission, the App uses your device’s precise location to show your position on the map, guide you turn by turn along your permitted route, and alert you if you drift off the authorized corridor. If you grant background location permission, the App can continue guiding you and watching for off-route deviations while your screen is off or while you are using another app. This is the feature a driver relies on mid-haul. Location is used in real time for navigation on your device; we do not build a history of your movements, and we do not use your location for advertising or sell it to anyone. You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings; navigation features will stop working, but the rest of the App will not.

Usage and diagnostic information. We collect limited technical information needed to keep the App working, such as error reports and basic records of permit-processing requests (for example: that a document was processed, when, and whether it succeeded). We use this to fix problems and improve route accuracy.

What we do not collect. The App does not access your contacts, photos, camera, or microphone. Your device may list these permissions because of standard software components included in the App, but Permit Path never requests or uses them. We do not collect advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

How We Use Information

  • To read the permits you upload and turn them into navigable routes;
  • To provide turn-by-turn guidance and off-route alerts;
  • To maintain your account and keep your permits available to you;
  • To operate, troubleshoot, and improve the App, including improving how accurately permits are read;
  • To protect the security of the App and our users;
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

How Information Is Shared

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. We use a small number of service providers to host our systems, store data securely, authenticate sign-ins, and convert route descriptions into map locations. These providers process information only on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations.
  • Maps. Route display and navigation use Google Maps. Google’s handling of information collected through its mapping services is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Permit Path, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If Permit Path is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction; this policy would continue to apply to it.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your account information and uploaded permits while your account is active so your routes remain available to you. You can delete individual permits inside the App. You can request deletion of your account and the personal information associated with it at any time by contacting us at hello@permit-path-app.com; we will complete verified deletion requests within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to keep. Diagnostic logs are retained only as long as needed for troubleshooting and are then deleted or anonymized.

Security

We protect your information with industry-standard measures, including encryption of data in transit, access controls on our systems, and authenticated access to our services. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you as required by law in the event of a breach affecting your personal information.

Children’s Privacy

Permit Path is built for commercial drivers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights and Choices

Access and correction. You can view and update your account information in the App, and you may contact us to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and personal information as described above.

Location permission. You control location access entirely through your device settings, including the choice between “while using” and “always” access.

State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws (such as the right to know, delete, or correct personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising those rights). We honor these requests regardless of your state. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@permit-path-app.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and notify you through the App or by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the App after a change means the updated policy applies.
